Alright. Disregard all earlier posts/rants. I would delete them, but some of them are funny to re-read. Things are well. Bailey is a once again thriving animal - she had a 6 month period where she had severe stomach issues due to separation anxiety, but she's once again eating like a horse. Its the exciting time of year where i'm seeing both football and basketball players, and loving every minute of it. I truthfully enjoyed last basketball season - got to travel with the basketball team here in town to most of these places that i've never been before, like: Miami, LA, Indianapolis, San Antonio, Detroit, Toronto, Phoenix (favorite stop), Portland, NYC (had never gone to MSG), Sacramento (least favorite stop), Denver (2nd favorite stop).. it was great. I miss these guys during the offseason.
So i've recently started Paleo eating. No grains, pasta, dairy, soy, added sugars...etc. Its added at least an hour to each and every trip to the grocery store due to reading every.single.label, but its worth it. You wouldn't believe how many items include some sort of corn product (grain), or sucrose (sugar), or soybean oil. I spend most of my time in a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's now unfortunately ($$$ to $$).
I'm determined to get through the first 30 days of a strict Paleo diet. Which means my new slow cooker is my most used kitchen item.
This week hasn't been bad really. Day 1, I was ravenously hungry throughout the day. As each day passed, it got less and less ravenous. I learned to balance my veggies that I can tolerate with meats and fat sources, with fruit thrown in. Sure, I have nightly dreams that include a reese's pieces blast from Brusters, but I can throw that back in eventually.. or at least a spoonful or two. With the no dairy no added sugars, i'm sure the reintroduction of that sort of treat will derail me/cause pain for an hour or two. But this isn't so bad. Eating out for the first time in a week tomorrow.. i've researched the menu ahead of time and planned ahead on what to order - this will save me unnecessary torture on looking at the menu at all the things I would really like instead.

Oops..

Its been a while.. sorry. Things are great, Bailey is a thriving ALMOST 1 year old (Jan 2), work is good, and I LOVE living without roommates :)

I currently have a cold, but that seems to be the norm.. and tomorrow i'm heading to the last Falcons home game of the season.

Merry Christmas!

Ugh

Well, I got the puppy. They were crying, thinking of their cats feelings, but i'm sick of doing everything for everyone else, and getting nothing in return. They still don't know how to clean up after themselves, and things are getting really bad in the house. I want to leave ASAP. Is it so difficult to locate the trash, and place things inside it? Or the sink/dishwasher? Or to turn off lights when you go to bed instead of leaving the living room with every single light on? I don't understand these high maintenance, irresponsible, southern girls who expect things to be handed to them and done for them. They may be rockstars wherever they come from, but here they are just average, needy girls who don't know how to keep their own shit straight.

Thoughts from the bottom of the barrel

Things I do NOT get in this house: Heat, garage/driveway parking, my things taken care of when other people use them.
Things other people in this house get: Heat, garage/driveway parking, 3 bedrooms upstairs for 2 people, use of my washer/dryer, use of my kitchen items.
Things the upstairs people rarely do in this house: Clean up after themselves, bring trash out, bring trash in, keep the kitchen clean. Although one of them has brought home a stranger or two in the past 5 months. That counts for something, right?

So when I want a puppy that I can take care of and be responsible for, they tell me no. Because the 4 cats they have upstairs will freak out and pee all over their things, and be upset. Wow, for once they're thinking of somebody.. well, something else other than themselves for once. Big step up. More like a half step though really, its their own things that the concern is for.

So once again, i'm kicked to the bottom of the barrel, where I usually am in this house. Because, like we've known all along... the pretty girls in this world get everything handed to them, and their opinions count. Nobody else has a say in the matter, their word is final. I'll just go back to cleaning up after them, cleaning the kitchen, and i'm thinking of leaving mints on their pillows as a final touch. Sounds like a fairy tale.

Cleaning up after a dog would be so much easier.

Catching up

Things are still going well. The Falcons are having a great season, so far 9-5 and looking to hopefully get a wild card playoff spot. We start working with the Georgia Force in February, I think. Work is alright, a little slow right now, but hopefully will pick up at a few places soon. Chris is doing great, we get to see each other every weekend and we're having so much fun together. AND I get to go home for 5 days at the end of the month! :)

Sunday

Yesterday was like the best day EVER!! We had awesome seats to the Falcons/Saints game, on the 10 yard line and 21 rows up. Plus a sweet parking pass for a lot adjacent to the stadium! They won, and Matt Ryan had a great game :)
Last night I had fun too, had dinner and a movie with a friend :)
